Comprehensive Summary
Cai et al. performed a meta-analysis of various studies evaluating the efficacy of artificial intelligence models in diagnosing inflammatory skin disease severity. From databases like PubMed, Embase, Institute of Electrical Electronics Engineers Xplore and Web of Science, relevant studies were gathered, excluding those without a valid severity index or clinical images. 192 sources were ultimately analyzed, and results indicated that artificial intelligence models demonstrated highly accurate diagnosis of disease severity. However, results cannot immediately be generalized until there is a method of standardizing the studies.
Outcomes and Implications
The meta-analysis revealed the effectiveness of artificial intelligence models in analyzing inflammatory skin disease severity. Given these results, AI can be used to assist in diagnosis of skin diseases, making the analysis faster, more efficient, and more accurate.
